James P. Brannen
Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer

Jim Brannen, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer of FBL Financial Group, is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a major in accounting. He joined FBL in 1991 and held various positions in the tax and accounting areas prior to being named to Vice President - Finance in 2000. He was promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer in 2007.

Prior to joining FBL, Jim worked primarily on corporate tax matters for insurance companies for Ernst & Young. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He is also active in civic and industry organizations. Jim is currently president of the board of Children and Families of Iowa. He is a past member of the boards of American Parkinson Disease Association - Iowa Chapter and Junior Achievement of Central Iowa and served on the tax committee for the National Association of Independent Insurers.

Richard J. Kypta
Executive Vice President - Farm Bureau Life, General Counsel & Secretary

Rich Kypta is Executive Vice President – Farm Bureau Life, General Counsel & Secretary of FBL. He joined the company in August 2007 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, and assumed his current position March 1, 2008. He spent 13 years with Aviva USA Corporation where he held a number of senior management positions including as General Counsel and as Senior Vice President. He most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, Kypta held a number of legal, finance, and operations positions within Aegon Insurance Group, including as General Counsel and Senior Vice President – Administration of the Advanced Products Division. He started his career with the public accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Rich holds a B.S. degree from Georgetown University, a M.S. degree from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. degree from the University of Maryland's School of Law. He is a Certified Public Accountant; a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Bar Association and Maryland State Bar Association; and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute.

Rich has been active in a number of civic, industry and trade organizations, including the Corporate Executive Board, Association of Life Insurance Counsel and Junior Achievement. He also served as a director of the Rhode Island Life and Health Guaranty Association.

James W. Noyce
Chief Executive Officer

James W. Noyce, CPA, FCAS, ASA, FLMI, MAAA, became Chief Executive Officer of FBL and its major subsidiaries effective January 1, 2007, and of Farm Bureau Mutual and its subsidiaries, in February 2007. He had been Chief Financial Officer since January 1996, and Chief Administrative Officer since July 2002. Additionally, from January 2000 to July 2002 he was Executive Vice President and General Manager of the property-casualty companies managed by FBL. He is chair of the CEO/CFO Certification Committee. Mr. Noyce has been employed by FBL and its affiliates since 1985. He is also a director of Berthel Fisher & Company and two of its subsidiaries. Mr. Noyce is vice chair of the Grandview College Board of Trustees and a director of Special Olympics Iowa, United Way of Central Iowa, the Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Mid-Iowa Council of Boy Scouts of America. In 2007 Mr. Noyce was inducted into the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) Business and Industry Hall of Fame.

John M. Paule
Executive Vice President - EquiTrust Life Insurance Company

John Paule, Executive Vice President of FBL Financial Group, joined FBL in 1997 after spending more than nineteen years with IBM.

John holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Iowa State University. He also completed advanced management courses for insurance and financial services at Wharton School of Business and Georgia State. He joined FBL as Vice President-Information Technology and was promoted to Vice President-Corporate Administration in 1998, before being named Chief Marketing Officer in 2000. In 2003 John was promoted to Executive Vice President of EquiTrust Life Insurance Company.

John is a member of the board of directors of the West Des Moines Development Corporation. He is a member and past president of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce and the West Des Moines Rotary Club. He has also served on the board of directors for Des Moines General Hospital Foundation, Junior Achievement and Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, and is a past president of the Board of Education, West Des Moines Community School District. John is a Registered Representative and a Registered Principal with FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).

Bruce A. Trost
Executive Vice President - Property Casualty Companies

Bruce Trost, Executive Vice President of FBL Financial Group, is responsible for Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company and Western Agricultural Insurance Company, which are the property-casualty companies managed by FBL.

Bruce joined FBL in 2004 and has more than 28 years of experience in the Farm Bureau insurance network. Prior to FBL Bruce was the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Nodak Mutual Insurance Company, Fargo, North Dakota. Bruce began his Farm Bureau insurance career in 1976 as a claims representative for COUNTRY Insurance Company in Illinois. He held various positions within the property casualty companies and was the Illinois State Claims Manager before joining United Farm Family Mutual Insurance Company in 1994 as Vice President of Claims. In 1996, he was named Senior Vice President of the property casualty companies at United Farm Family. Bruce returned to COUNTRY Insurance in 1999, where he was Vice President of the propertycasualty companies until he assumed the position with Nodak Mutual Insurance Company.

Bruce holds a bachelor's degree in business from Southern Illinois University. He also completed various insurance and advanced management courses through Wharton School of Business, Drake University, IBM and American Educational Institute, where he received a Senior Claims Law Associate designation.

Bruce is involved in various industry activities including boards and committees of the Property Loss Research Bureau, Liability Research Institute, Institute for Business and Home Safety, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Property Casualty Insurance Association and American Agricultural Insurance Company.
